RIMAS takes over VITRODODI Solar

The Netherlands, July 22nd 2011

RIMAS Technology Group has acquired the Solar activities of VITRODODI Glass Working Machinery, based in Milan Italy. The development and production of the VITRODODI glass washers will be transferred to The Netherlands, where RIMAS has its head office.

RIMAS Technology Group is specialized in turnkey module manufacturing lines, in a capacity range up to 50 MW per line. The company focuses on smart solutions that lead to high quality reliable production lines at a competitive price.

Managing director Mr. Mark Verstraten is pleased with the latest expansion of RIMAS’ solar activities. Verstraten: “The VITRODODI equipment is already part of some of our lines, like projects in Canada en Azerbaijan, so we know it well. Furthermore it fits our growth scenario. By taking over VITRODODI Solar we take the next step in our business development strategy”. RIMAS has plans for technology combinations, also involving VITRODODI equipment. Verstraten: “We will combine additional functions inside the glass working machinery in order to reduce manual handling and as a result reduce production cost for our customers”.

VITRODODI’s sales activities will be kept in Italy for the bigger part. The experience, knowledge and network of founder Mr. Luigi Dodi, remains a crucial asset for the company. Mr. Dodi: “Existing as well as new customers will be supported not only by me, but also by the RIMAS’s organization. This step will improve our worldwide service capabilities”.

During the PV SEC exhibition in Hamburg, September 5 – 8, VITRODODI will be presented at the RIMAS booth, together with RUV Systems for ultrasonic crack detection technology. Location Hamburg Messe, hall A, booth C4.
